I agree.  Any version of "well, most people will never ever need 
more than X mb anyway so who cares" is historically likely to be 
dead wrong.  I mean, I would hope the goal is to get us all 
wired fully, all the time, everywhere, fixed and mobile.  Plans 
like this are just attempts to nickel and dime us to death every 
step of the way imho. Such "solutions" stand in the way of many 
of our fondest dreams and, more importantly, in the way of human 
technological progress generally.
