(Could make looking for a > thesis advisor difficult.) Out of curiosity, are there any other students or former students that did wearable computing projects at their schools? What type of projects did other people do? Also, what type of advisor should I look for? No one's research area is in this area. (I'm straight CS but am considering a switch to EE/CS, which might make it easier.) Also, I have to admit that it may be easier to do research than I originally said to Freeman (were you the original one to send the email?). I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity for research this summer here, though most undergrads don't have the opportunity. You really do have to be outspoken and prod to get it, though this one kind of fell in my lap. (I'm likely going to do work with a prof in digital system testing.) > Anyway, I need some advice. We sound like we're in a similar boat. My main thought is don't be afraid to experiment. It's kind of like how I'm guessing you learned to use computers. You wonder to yourself, what does this do? And then, click or type it to find out. Of course, sometimes you end up trashing the hard drive or something, but I think learning by trial and error is the best way...just tinkering with stuff. Of course, practice on cheap stuff, though.
