True, but unless I'm mistaken the embedded drives may work with IDE ports
with these connectors:
http://www.toshiba.com/taissdd/techdocs/mk2003gah/2003connect.shtml

These probably aren't adapters but just connectors with solder points on
the side that would be exposed after plugging into the drive. If that's
the case, you would have to connect it to the IDE port yourself with an
IDE connector with it's wires cut and stripped. But you could do it.

Or maybe they don't work with IDE at all? Toshiba says these drives are
ATA. Someone please correct me here. Thanks.

Maybe these connectors come with the "easy integration" developers kits
they say they provide:
