Here's a quick thought:  I thought it would be neat to make a sensor-glove,
containing IR, therm, Hall-effect, etc...sensors and a few effectors like
IR and high-power white LEDs, flat piezo speaker, etc...

You could have a plug at the cuff of the jacket to plug the glove into.
(heck, a generic serial expansion plug there would be neat for peripherals
that plug into the wearable)

The all purpose temp sensor could be used to monitor your temp, albeit
intermitently, by sticking your finger in your mouth. :)

...could also double as a cheap-ass dry-bulb/wet-bulb hygrometer. :)
