Re: laptop floppy drive connections?

Hi everyone,
the laptop it came from is an old compaq contura 430cx,
the suspected pin outs that I have sofar appear below, this is from
comparing the pins for the floppy connector in the advantech biscuit pc
users manual with the pins given on the citizen web site for there
laptop floppy drives. Hopefully in the next few days I'll be etching a
pcb to test the theory, ill report on whether I get a boot drive or
smoke! The motivation for all this is that since the hard drive is dead
and im running short on dollars I figure the 64 MB of ram that's onboard
should be sufficient to hold the processors playground, so if I can get
the floppy running Ill beable to use a linux boot disk, load everything
on to a ram disk and then swap the floppy's over and use it as a scratch
pad till I can aquire a decent harddrive,(sort of like the olden days
but with 64mb and a 233/586)
regards
	Shane

Any corrections would be appreciated before I see smoke!
