everyone seems to be worrying about the battery life of one single battery
or battery pack of many large batteries. Has anyone built a manual or
autoswitching pack to go between many batteries as need arises, to go all
day?

mainly, how can I limit DC current so that when the voltage goes over X,
it limits it to X, but when it is <=X it does not provide any resistance,
so that is efficient except when you switch batteries, so you don't blow
your wearable up. I just don't want to take a chance with this kind of
equipment.
